Wisdom For Youth From Senior Expertise (WYSE)-Bayview Senior Housing

Our parent company, Methodist Retirement Communities, has implemented a program at several of their Bryan locations and we have decided to do the same here in La Porte. The name of the program is WYSE (Wisdom for Youth from Senior Expertise) and we are very excited to invite La Porte High School Seniors to volunteer in exchange for 12 volunteer hours! Attached is a link to our corporate page with information about the program. The elderly seniors depicted in the video are from our Bryan locations and tend to cater more towards nursing home residents. We house independent senior adults at our complex. We have had other involvement with students from student council and they have asked if we have any volunteer opportunities so hopefully this program will be successful!   The piolet program launched during the LPHS Spring 18 semester and was successful. We would love to offer this opportunity to the students of LPHS and my seniors for the fall semester!

Coach Mac has the applications for this program.  Applications are due by September 20, 2018.
